I Am Back Home

This posting id to tell you all my friends in KL that I am now back home in Pasir Mas. We travelled by road from KL via the PLUS Highway exiting at Kuala Kangsar for the East West Highway that took us through Jeli and Tanah Merah.
It was when entering Tanah Merah that we got stuck in a traffic jam that took us hours to reach this small town. The reason for the jam? They were resurfacing a section of the the road to Bukit Bunga from Tanah Merah pock marked by potholes due to the rainy weather. Doing it on a rainy day will render the newly laid surface useless before the PM's arrival on the 21st Dec 2007.
The PM is due to co officiate the opening ceremony of a new bridge linking Bukit Bunga in Kelantan to Bukit Ta (Buketa in Thai) in Thailand.
I have yet to survey the damage by flood in Pasir Mas and will post news about it for readers who are interested to know more about it. Meanwhile it is still raining out there so even if the flood has subsided, it may come back.
Selamat Hari Raya EidulAdha to all fellow moslems.

Salam Pak Zawi
Happy Eid ul Adha to you and fammily.
You had the benefit of using a newly-tarred road, thanks to the Prime Minister.
Kalau tak kerana dia nak lalu, dah tentu jalan tu tak di serimukakan (meminjam kata2 Samy Vellu) sampai bila2.

Pak Zawi said...

Zabs,

Pak Zawi said...

Fauziah,
Selamat menyambut Eidul Adha.
Hopefully the serimuka can last until the PM managed to use it. Since the rain stops since midday and the sun was shining, there is a chance it will stick. If it doesn't stick, its another sum of public money down the drain. They should know better than doing resurfacing during a heavy rain.

Salam Pak Zawi:

Zawi, happy to hear that you have a safe journey & able to carry out your Korban @ home.

I fully agreed with you that to be away 1 month from home is not easy - tapi kasih sayang kat cucu selalu mengatasi segalanya. My late mother refused to live in KL despite none of her children was in Mersing - she love her home too much and preferred to be there and visited us now and then.

Pak Idrus,
I am definitely glad to be home. Not that I fear the flood to swallow up my home because my home is located on the highest of ground in Pasir Mas. The change in ambience and bedding has always been a problem with my sleep. It takes sometimes for my body to get used to the new environment. Home is definitely sweet.
I would like to thank you for the hospitality you accorded me and my family from the begiining of our meeting and the visit to your home. You are one heck of a friend.
Take good care yourself and have a good day.

Tokasid,

Zaitgha,
I was apprehensive earlier and my children in KL was more eager to have us celebrate EidulAdha in KL but the call from home seemed stronger and so here we are.
Thank you for being so caring.

Pak Zawi said...

D.Jaff,
The call for the Qurban was uppermost on our mind that made us came back. Its the yearly affair in oue extended family where we would be gathered at an uncles's place to undertake this Ibadah.
The one month away played havoc on my bodily function. I had acute constipation, sleeping problem and all resulted in an increase in my blood pressure abetted by the good food at Pak Idrus' place. Felt guilty for consuming abit on the too much side due to the great food served. Me and my temptations.
Ucapan Selamat Menyambut IdilAdha kembali kepada Tuan.

Salam AidilAdha to you.

The names of the places you mentioned ring my bell. When I was small, despite of our family is originally from Kota Bharu, my granpa took me to stay over in Jedok, Bukit Bunga area until the time I had to enter school. And during school holidays, I'd be there to spend my time. Perhaps my old folks were among the ones who's responsible to turn that area from thick jungle to a place suitable for living.

~gab~,
I used to visit my sister way back in the early 60's. She lived in Panglima Bayu at the junction to Puyu. The road to the place was only accessible by fourwheel drive bus belonging to NETS. Four wheel drive bus? Who would have heard of that now. The road were mud track with deep gulleys where the tyre tracks were. It was a long winding road, a far cry from the present straight, wide and tarred surface. The road is called Jalan Jedok.
Bukit Bunga is fast rising to become the next growth center. Dont be surprised if Bukit Bunga overtakes Rantau Panjang as the main entry to Thailad with the opening up of this new bridge.
Meanwhile at the time of writing,
(11 AM 21st Dec 2007) the live telecast of the official opening ceremony is not on. What happens to the programme as slated on RTM's TV1 is anybody's guess.
The memories of the days when you used to live in Jedok must still be fresh in your mind)
Thank you for visiting my site. Have a good day.

Kak Ton,
It's never too late to wish each other Selamat Hari Raya IdilAdha and on that note I would like to wish you the same.
Once again I would like to thank you for being such a gracious host to my family what with those small kids that just don't seem to know how to keep still. Had our hands full trying to keep them away from breaking anything in your house hahaha. Kids are kids.
Elviza has my number so please call us the minute you set foot in Kelantan.

Alhamdulillah, selamat sampai.

One of my cousins who drove back from KL on Raya eve, bertolak dari KL 10.30pm, sampai Ipoh 4am! Usually it would take only 2 hours. I am so glad I stay in my kampung asal. So I balik kampung every day... no worries about getting stuck in the traffic during festive season.

Pak Zawi said...

Pi Bani,
Alhamdulillah kami selamat pulang Pi. Saya pergi kerana tugas besar. Jaga cucu hehehehe. So bila tugas selesai kena pulang la.
Lepas ni cucu dari Labuan pula kena jaga. Ibu dia masuk kursus KPLI kat Keningau Sabah. Jadi kena jaga anak dia pula selama 6 bulan. Kali ini dia kena hantar anak dia balik Pasir Mas. InsyaAllah 4 December ini The bundle of Joy will be back with me. Yehooooooooooooo. Best jaga cucu.

Pak Zawi,
Fuh, finally I managed to get online!
Wau, enjoy raya nampak???
Did you use the biological weapon during the qurban?Hahaha.
Well, you hae a nice day, nice raya, nice qurban, nice gathering, and as your cucu (Balqis, right?) is coming home, nice Nanny Day(s)(",). Sorry I cannot make my appearance, but when I am home, I'll make sure to raid your house! Brace yourself muahahaha!

Pak Zawi said...

Akmal,
It is good to be connected to the internet again right?
Since a qurban involved some blood letting of the animal by severing the carotid artery, I cant use the biological mean as a way to kill the animal hahahahaha.
Yes my 'cucu' is coming back earlier than expected. Her mum is going for a teacher training course (KPLI) at Keningau, Sabah. The earlier plan was for me to go to Labuan to look after Balqis but later they decided it is best that Balqis be brought back to Pasir Mas for us to look after for six months. The mother will opt to do the practical in Labuan after the 6 months course and be united with the baby again.
Only Emir and his wife Wan Mazlin Mastura came for the gathering. It was a good thing since now I know I used to meet his wife before when she used to come to her brother's shop at KB Mall. Later we found out that Wan Mazlin is related to my daughter inlaw Wan Hanizah through their fathers. What a small world. It later turned out that Wan Mazlin Mastura and Wan Hanizah used to go to the same school in Pasir Mas but over the years both have changed so much that they can't recognize each other. What a way for God to bring them together again.
You are welcome to my house anytime. Feel free to drop in anytime. Don't raid my house, just come in peace hahahaha.
